Privacy Policy
Last updated: 8 October 2026
Herding Cats ("the game") is a free browser game available at cats.happymonkey.ai, operated by HappyMonkey.ai. We have designed the game so that you can play without giving up any personal data. This policy explains, in plain terms, exactly what happens when you play.
What we collect
The game has no accounts and no sign-ins. We never receive your name, email address or precise location. If you accept analytics on the cookie notice, we receive aggregated usage statistics via Google Analytics — such as how many people play, which devices and browsers they use, and their approximate country — so we can understand how the game is played and improve it. If you choose "Essential only", no analytics are loaded at all.
Cookies and local storage
The game always uses your browser's local storage for essential purposes only:
- to remember your cookie-notice choice, so it does not reappear on every visit;
- to remember your sound and music preferences.
This data is stored entirely on your own device, is never transmitted to us, and can be removed at any time by clearing your browser's site data for cats.happymonkey.ai.
If you accept analytics, Google Analytics additionally sets two cookies:
_ga— distinguishes visitors; configured to expire after six months;_ga_HX8XYXBPBF— distinguishes analytics sessions; configured to expire after six months.
You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using the “Privacy choices” control on the game. Choosing “Essential only” stops further analytics, sends a denial update to Google Analytics when it is loaded, and clears accessible Google Analytics cookies. You can also clear this site's data in your browser. The game does not load analytics until you affirmatively choose “Accept”.
Third parties
The site is delivered through standard hosting and content-delivery infrastructure (including Cloudflare). These providers process technical data such as your IP address and browser type solely for the purpose of transmitting the site to you, which is necessary for any website to function. If you accept analytics, usage data is also processed by Google under its own privacy policy, which may include transfers outside the UK. No data is shared with third parties for advertising or profiling.
Children
The game is suitable for all ages and does not ask for personal data from anyone, including children.
Your rights
Under the UK GDPR you have rights including access, rectification and erasure of personal data, and the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). Since the game itself does not process personal data, and any analytics data is pseudonymous, there is normally nothing to access or erase — but if you believe otherwise, contact us and we will respond promptly.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date.
